dear friend,

Yes you can join surely to I.A.F. ( Indian Air Force ) after 12th. There are generally three branches and for these three branches there are three different eligible criteria.The three department are :

1. Flying Branch,
2. Technical Branch,
3. Ground Duty Branch.

The selection procedure are consist of two types which are :

1. A.F.C.A.T.(Air Force Common Admission Test) and
2. A.F.S.B.(Air Force Selection Boards)

ELIGIBLE CRITERIA :-

1. Age ::

19 to 23 years as on 01 july 2012 i.e. born between 2nd july 1989 to 1 july 1993(both dates inclusive).

2. Educational Qualification ::

Graduates in any discipline from a recognized university having 60% or more than 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together and have passed 10+2 th with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or BE/B.Tech degree from a recognized university having 60% or more than 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together.

3. Physical Standard ::

i.) Height : minimum 162.5 cm and more than this
ii.) Weight : in between 60 to 80 kg
iii.) Vision : minimum visual acuity 6/6 in one eye and 6/6 in another eye

Indian Air Force can be joined through NDA , CDS and through AFCAT

NDA- NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY exam conducted by UPSC twice every year as NDA-I and NDA-II for entry in to Indian Aior Force, Army and Navy of NDA.

For Indian Air Force wing of NDA the candidate must be an unmarried Indian within the age of 16.5 years to 19 years of age having either appear for final 12th exam or passed with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.For more details you may log on to www.upsc.gov.in

CDS - COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE exam conducted by UPSC twice every year as CDS-I and CDS-II for entry in to Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officer's Training Academy.

For CDS Indian Air Force Academy the candidate should be an Indian unmarried within the age of 19 to 25 years of age having either appeared for final graduation degree or passed with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

AFCAT- AIR FORCE COMMON ADMISSION TEST conducted by Indian Air Force twice every year for recruitment in Technical,Flying and Ground Duty Branch of Air Force. For more information you may log on to www.upsc.gov.in

The eligible candidate should be a student of B.Tech engineering and the AFCAT can be appeared after 3rd year of B.Tech. For more information you may log on to www.careerairforce.nic.in

COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE EXAM(CDSE)

This Exam is conducted by SSB.

Those candidate are completed graduation are eligible for CDSE exam but 12 standard subject must be Math and Physics.

B-TECH ans BE student are also eligible for this exam .But you have not any Pending Backlog.

Final Year student are also eligible for CDSE exam.There is no percentage marks criteria.

The age criteria for CDSE exam is given below.

Indian Military Academy - 19-24 Years
Air Force Academy - 19-23 Years
Naval Academy - 19-22 Years
Officer's Training Academy - 19-25 Years

UNIVERSITY ENTRY SCHEME ( UES)

This exam is conducted by UPSC.

The candidate must be currently studying in Pre-final year of BE / B Tech degree course in the relevant streams of engineering as mentioned above and must have secured minimum of 60% marks in aggregate . But you have not any Pending Backlog.

Your age should be in between 18 to 28 years.

NCC SPECIAL ENTRY EXAM

Those candidate have completed graduation degree with above 50% marks are eligible for SSC exam.you must have citizenship of India.

Your age should be in between 19 to 25 years .

The criteria of NCC ‘C’ Certificate holders to appear directly for SSB for Short Service Course (Non Technical).

AFCAT EXAM

1.Flying branch :-

Candidate must have complete the graduation in any trade, but must have maths and physics in 12th..

Candidates age should be in between 19-23 years.

2.Technical branch:-

Candidate must have complete the graduation in engineering field.

Age should be in between 18-28 years.

3.Ground duty branch:-

Candidate must have complete the graduation in any trade.

Age should be in between 20-27 years.

So if you have graduation degree then you are applicable for above post.

• You should have the Graduation degree in Engineering from a recognized University with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level
  
• Final year graduate candidates are also eligible for CDS Examination.
  
• You Age should be between 19 to 23.
  
• You must be an Indian Citizen

CDS exam notification will release in the month of Oct and June every year & exam will held in the month of Feb and September every year respectively.

How to join Indian Air Force?

To join in Indian Air Force which is known as the one of the defence force of India,you need to write the entrance exam for it and you can apply for the entrance exams on depending on the qualification which you possess.

Required Educational Qualification and other abilities for this?

Talking about the required qualification and abilities it is that you need to possess the following:

>> Nationality

>> Martial Status

>> Age Limit

>> Education qualification

>> Physical Standard

As you have not mentioned your qualification by which i could say whether you are eligible or not.But as you have not mentioned it i can only tell you the minimum qualification which is needed for joining in IAF and they are:

-> You need to have a citizenship in India

-> You need to be a unmarried male candidate

-> The minimum age limit needed is 16 1/2-19 years

-> The minimum education qualification needed is that you need to have completed +2 and that to with Physics and Mathematics as subjects with a fair percentage from a recognized school board of education

-> The candidate should be physically fit as it is very important



If you are going to possess all these then you can apply for the entrance exam which is called as NDA Exam which is being conducted by UPSC and held every year for candidate to join in defnece forces.
