Requirements and qualification required to become a CID Officer?


Hello friends, I have an aim to become a CID Officer. I would like to know about the qualification which is essentially required to achieve my aim. Please let me know about the requirements also. Waiting for your response!

Requirements and Qualification Required to become a CID Officer:

Some of the major requirements and qualification required to become a CID Officer are given below.

<> The basic educational qualification required is Graduation or Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

<> You should be a citizen of India.

<> Both male and female candidates are eligible to apply for this CID Officer recruitment.

<> The minimum age required generally is 20 years and maximum age should not exceed 27 years in order to be eligible.

<> You are required to appear in Civil Services Aptitude Test that is conducted by UPSC to become an Officer in CID department.

CID stands for Criminal Investigation Department.

Educational qualifications required for CID are mentioned below:-

1. Completion of graduation in any stream from any recognized board or university.

2. Final year candidates are also eligible.

3. Age limit:- 18-27 years.

4. No. of attempts:- There is no no. of attempts.

5. Nationality:- Indian.

6. Physically and mentally fit.

The full form of CID is Criminal Investigation Department.

If you want to become an officer in CID then you should join Indian Police Services. Recruitment to IPS is done through Civil Services examination. UPSC conducts this examination every year.

Candidate with minimum academic qualification of bachelor's degree and age of 21 years can apply for this examination.

CID(Crime Investigation Department) is an agency of crime detecting which comes under the Government of India.

Eligibility criteria for CID:-

1) Academic qualification- Contenders must have qualified their 10+2 from any university. or,

Contenders must have qualified their Bachelor degree in any specialisations from any university.

2) Age:- 20 years- 27 years.

3) Other backward contenders get age relaxation(3 years OBC, and 5 years SC/ST).

4) Nationality- Contenders must have an Indian origin.

5) Sex- Both Male and Female contenders are eligible.

Physical requirements:-

1) Height- 165 cms(Men), 150 cms(Women).

2) Chest- 76 cms with expansion.

3) Eye sight(With or without glasses)- Distant vision: 6/6 in One and, 6/9 in Other eye.
Near vision: 0.6 in One eye and, 0.8 in Other eye.

Attempts of CID:-

1) General- 4.

2) OBC- 7.

3) SC/ST- No limits.

The process of selection of CID:-

1) Written Test.

2) Physical Test.

3) Interview.

Ranks of CID:-

1) Additional Director General of Police(ADGP).

2) Inspector General of Police(IGP).

3) Deputy Inspector General(DIG).

4) Superintendent of Police(SP).

5) Deputy Superintendent of Police(DSP).

6) Inspector.

7) Superintendent.

8) Sub-Inspector.

9) Constable.

To become a Criminal Investigation Department Officer(CID). Criminal Detective Agency comes among Indian Police Department. Every year UPSC conducts Civil Service Exams, candidate one who qualified will be selected.

Eligibility for CID

>> Candidate should be an Indian.
>> First established on April 1st 1906
>> Minimum qualification required is +2 pass to become a Assistant Inspector
>>Candidates need degree with criminology course can apply for the higher post
>>Both Male and Female are eligible to apply
>>Age limit is 21 to 27 years, 5 years is of relaxation to SC/ST categories and 3 years to OBC categories
>>Height should be 165cms for Men and 150cms for Women, 5cms relaxation to required category
>>No of attempts to general category is 4, OBC is 7 and no limits ti SC/ST categories.
