Re: Should I change my board from CBSE to Gujarat board?
Hey,
Aieee exam doesn't depend on any board either you from CBSE or gujrat board hardly matter. If you are taking about the state quote then it on the basis of from where you pass out your 12th.it doesn't depend Board. but to get admission in any college through aieee it depends on your aieee peformance not on any board. so,good luck |

Re: Should I change my board from CBSE to Gujarat board?
Yes, you can definitely change to state board after 1oth. and It will also benefit you , because state board students have generally more seats compare to CBSE board.

Re: Should I change my board from CBSE to Gujarat board?
Total no of students in 2011 in CBSE Std XII Exams : 7,70,000
(Ref http://cbse.nic.in/PRE%20EXAM%20PRESS%20NOTE%202011.pdf) 10% increase every year so 2012 will have 8,50,000 students, i.e. 30,000 per state (avg) for both streams together, out of which students opting for Medical would be ~ 30% or 9000 Total Guj Board students 2012 for HSC Exams were 1,12,000 out of which B stream students were 26,000 Total No of seats in medical in Gujarat are 1900 out of which 50% are reserved So approx 1000 seats are open merit, out of which 100 (10%) for CBSE quota Probability for CBSE vs Guj Board student to get admission in Medical: Assuming % students passing in both boards are nearly equal (@ 70%) CBSE: 100/9000*100 = 1.1% Guj Board: 900/26000*100 = 3.5% Thus, Guj Board student has 3.5 times better chance to get admission in MBBS compared to CBSE student. So better to switch to Guj Board! |

Re: Should I change my board from CBSE to Gujarat board?
Dear Anonymous,
Total no of students who gave the CBSE Std XII Exams were 7,70,000 in 2011. You can refer to: http://cbse.nic.in/PRE%20EXAM%20PRESS%20NOTE%202011.pdf There is a 10% increase every year so the year 2012 will have 8,50,000 students, i.e. 30,000 per state on an average for both streams together, out of which students opting for Medical would be approximately 30% or 10000. On the other hand: Total Gujarat Board students appearing in 2012 for Class 12th Exams were 1,12,000 out of which biology stream students were approximately 26,000. Total No of seats in medical in Gujarat are 1900 out of which 50% are reserved. So approximately 1000 seats are open for merit, out of which 100 (10%) is reserved for CBSE quota. Probability for CBSE vs Guj Board student to get admission in Medical is as follows: Assuming % students passing in both boards are nearly equal (@ 70%) CBSE: 100/9000*100 = 1.1% Guj Board: 900/26000*100 = 3.5% Thus, Guj Board student has 3.5 times better chance to get admission in MBBS compared to CBSE student. So better to switch to Guj Board! |

Re: Should I change my board from CBSE to Gujarat board?
Respected, Sir/Madam,
Please, suggest me regarding competitive exams of Gujarat state for Class-A officer. Clarify on the following doubts:- a) what CBSE student is eligible to appearing in that exam i.e. Gujarat state class-A officer level services ? b) What seats allotments is different for CBSE/GBSE or any other board ? c) Mostly students selected in above exams of CBSE or GBSE ? D) Due to CBSE student not knowledge in Gujarati Language then they eligible for appearing in Gujarat state civil services or not ? e) Any special condition so that CBSE candidate not eligible for the same ? Please urgently suggest |

Quote:
But switching to Gujarat board would be profitable to you as CBSE seats are very less in AIEEE. |
