Re: Is software programming the only job after B.tech Information Technology
If you are looking for job related to your degree then no it is not possible. Since your expertise in IT, you are going to get job related to the course you have completed. Obviously you can not apply for jobs related to Aerospace Engineering.
The jobs are given on the basis of your education. If you have degree in Aerospace then you can apply for job in space agency etc, Automobile Engineer would get offer from auto makers similarly you are going to get job in IT sector. There are jobs in Public Sector Undertakings as well but all would be related to computers for B.Tech IT graduates. Therefore I would recommend if you meet the percentage criteria below, you should apply for the PSU jobs. Eligibility 1. A B.Tech degree from a recognized university. 2. At least 60 percent marks. 3. There should be no pending backlogs at the time of applying. 4. The age limit is 21 to 30 years. 5. SC/ST are eligible for 5 years relaxation. If you are not interested in jobs related to IT then I would suggest that you apply for jobs that are not for Engineering candidates. You can either apply for Civil Service Examination or the Bank PO. If you want to become Indian Administrative Service or IPS officer then you should apply for the Civil Service Examination. All you need is a graduation degree in any stream to appear for the Civil Service Examination. Eligibility 1. Must be citizen of India. 2. A graduation degree in any stream. 3. Age limit is 21 to 30 years. 4. It is relaxed by 3 years for OBC. 5. Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST. The other option would be banking job. IBPS conducts Bank PO exam on the behalf of 19 Public Sector Banks. With the graduation degree you can appear for this exam as well. |

No software programming is just among several job opportunities to IT engineers. You can work in IT sector in following posts:
You can work on these posts in many private IT sectors like:
You can also work as a graduate engineer trainee or junior engineer in different public sector units like: DRDO, ISRO, SIAL, IOCL etc So, chose the field where you are interested and where you can perform better. After doing job in any sector or post a year a two you can go for higher studies like M.tech or MBA according to your wish and improve your job profile and salary. Best of luck! |

No, you can try for other job profiles such as Specialist Officer in banks. In defense you can join as Officer/Asst Commandant by qualifying CDS exam. Junior Engineer profile in railways are suitable. You can try for jobs in system administration or software testing. Networking, database management, etc are other areas where you can try for a job.
