For GATE it is best advised that you refer to books by GK publishers on the respective subject.

They have a good pattern of questions in their book and it is well illustrated form.

Also, i would suggest you that you solve as many sample papers as possible as it will give you and idea of what you might face in the exam and it will also increase your answering seed.
