This time UPSC pattern is changed and it is called as CSAT which is coming into effect from Civil Services Examination, 2011.and so there is no option subjects...
It consits of two paper and each paper of Two hrs.. (Paper 1) (200 marks) consists of
It is of purely objective type and qualifying exam... (Paper II) (200 marks)
It is of purely subjective type and followed by interview.... Based on the overall ranking and your choice of cadre, you will be provided IFS (Indian Foreign Service), IAS or IPS. The higher your rank, the choice is with you. In case you have not not got a good rank and got into IFS, IAS or IPS, you may still become a Group A or B officer in the Central Govt. In comprehension subjective paper following are the optional subject you can choose any one of it

INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE [IAS]
For become a IAS officer,you must have to clear the civil service examination, conducted by the union public service commission [UPSC]. This civil service examination has three stages- 1. CSAT [CIVIL SERVICE ATTITUDE TEST] 2.MAINS 3.INTERVIEW [PERSONALITY TEST] Exam pattern- Optional subjects- ![]() The minimum educational requirement for this examination is a graduation degree from a recognized college. Eligibility for IAS exam:- 1.Candidate have to complete the graduation in any trade from a recognized university. 2.Candidate must be a citizen of India. 3.Age should be in between 21-30 years. For SC/ST the upper age relaxation is 5 years and for OBC the upper age relaxation is 3 years. As you have done BE/B.tech in computer science stream then you can apply for IAS exam. The list of optional subjects are as follows:- Agriculture Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science Botany Chemistry Civil Engineering Commerce Economics Electrical Engineering Geography Geology Indian History Law Mathematics Mechanical Engineering Medical Science Philosophy Physics Political Science Psychology Public Administration Sociology Statistics Zoology you have to choose any two subjects among these.
