Which subjects should CS stream students focus on?

For cracking GATE exam your 3rd year syllabus is really vital so you need to study your 3rd year syllabus well .The subjects which you should focus according to me are :

• Operating System
• Computer Organisation and Architecture or Computer System and Architecture
• Software Engineering
• Theory of Automata and Formal Language
• Apart from these practice previous year papers and new sample papers as well.
• I will advice you to prepare from the book of Made Easy.
• Take part in online preparation test conducted by different website to sharpen and test your preparation.
• Rest of all will depend upon you and your hard work.

I will advice you not to touch the question which makes you confused in exam because this is the reason why so many students fails to crack GATE.

For GATE all the subject of CS important,
But the subject on which you have to more concentrate are:

Operating System,
CAo (Computer architecture) both 1 and 2
Database
Artificial Inteligence
Software Engineering
Comptur Graphics Management
DAA
Automata
Then C,oops,Datastructure.

And for this you go through the syllabus..

one thing is important for these type of exam in which you not to attempt all questions because -ve marking is accomplshed....so, this is harmful for you.

dear friend,

If you want to crack just choose some few subject . prepare well all these subject. The main subject are given below . Most of the question is coming from here.

1 .Digital electronics.

2.Microprocessor.

3.Operating system

4.Networking

6.DBMS (only SQL part)

7.Software engineering.

8.Automata.

If you have gain good knowledge in those subject then you must cracked the gate exam.

First I want to say that make a solid base in data structure and c, bacause those are the basics of all.
there are some other subject like JAVA,C++,networking , DAA,Automata those can help you to enhance your carrier .

You should focus onyour programming skills.Its the best option for a computer engineer.There is so much scope for a computer engineer.So you have good command on programming languages.It will give you so uch benifit for your future.There are many languages so you can focus on those.
C,c++,java,php,orracle are the languages which you must focus in engineering.

The subjects u should focus on for CS are

1. Computer Architecture
2. Basic Programming Language
3. Maths
4. Knowledge about Hardware of the computer
5. Genral Knowledge Questions (eg. present politics status etc )this is not that important but it is asked for some marks
