Re: Are there any qualifications needed to join IIM other than CAT exam? How much percentage should we have in 12th?
Dear friend,
Please find the eligibility criteria to join IIM. Eligibility The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) category[1], this is relaxed to 45%), of any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent. For computing the percentage, the marks obtained in all the subjects as mentioned in the mark-sheet in all the years will be taken into account. In case of the candidates being awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence would be based on the equivalence certified by the university/institution from where they have obtained bachelor’s degree. In case the university/ institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by IIMA by dividing obtained CGPA with the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant with 100. Candidates appearing for the final year bachelor’s degree / equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirement and are awaiting results can also apply. Such candidates must produce a certificate from the Principal/Head of the Department/Registrar/Director of the university/ institution certifying that the candidate is currently in the final year / is awaiting final results and has obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent (45% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/DA category) based on latest available grades/marks. Such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally only if they submit a certificate latest by June 30, 2013 from the Principal/Registrar of their college/institute (issued on or before June 30, 2013) stating that they have completed all the requirements (the results may, however, be awaited) for obtaining the bachelor’s degree/ equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate. Their admission will be confirmed only when the candidate submits the mark sheet and a certificate of having passed the bachelor’s degree / equivalent qualification referred to in the certificate issued by the Principal/Registrar with at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/DA category). It is mandatory for the final year students, who are provisionally admitted, to submit the mark-sheet and degree certificate of the final year Bachelor’s degree examination held on or before June 30, 2013 (including supplementaries, if any), to be eligible for admission to the Post Graduate Programme batch 2013-15. The deadline for submission of the mark sheet and the certificate is December 31, 2013. Non-fulfillment of this condition will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission. IIMA would not allow any candidate to join its programme in case the candidate is unable to complete all the requirements for a bachelor degree on or before June 30, 2013. The IIMA would also not offer admission to any candidate after June 30, 2013. * CAT refers to CAT-2012 * GMAT refers to GMAT administered within the last 24 months as on 15 December 2012 All the Best |

Re: Are there any qualifications needed to join IIM other than CAT exam? How much percentage should we have in 12th?
for getting into IIM, CAT percentile is not the only thing that is required. because CAT score matters only 40-50% in your admission selection. your 10th, 12th and graduation marks are also considered.
in order to get into IIMs, you should be having above 80% marks in 10,12th and a CAT percentile of above 98 percentile, then only there are chances available for you to get a call from IIM gud luck |

Hello dear , there is no limitation on you 10th or 12th grade marks for admission in the IIMs , still it is always a plus point if you have a good 10th and 12th grade percentage.
Eligibility : The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA). For more details regarding the Eligibility conditions please visit http://www.catiim.in/cat_eligibility.html For more details regarding the Selection Procedure please visit http://www.catiim.in/selection_process.html Regards, Pkay. |

Re: Are there any qualifications needed to join IIM other than CAT exam? How much percentage should we have in 12th?
Hi
following is the eligibility criteria for appearing for CAT - candidate should be graduate - candidate should have done his/her graduation from UGC recognized college/institute - Candidate should have atleast 50% marks in graduation (45% in case of SC/ST) - No live backlog - no limit on age and number of attempts - final year graduate can also appear As per the eligibility you can easily see that there is no mention of class 12th marks However, since you write 12th marks in your resume and reflect your academics, the more marks you have in 12th , the better it would be. Apart from CAT score, your 10th 12th and graduation is also seen during admission All the best |

Re: Are there any qualifications needed to join IIM other than CAT exam? How much percentage should we have in 12th?
You should know that there are several Indian Institutes of Management in the country. To be precise there are 13 Indian Institutes of Management in the country.
These institutes are considered best for MBA. Although they do not offer the Master of Business Administration degree but post graduation degree in Management which is considered equal to MBA by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development in India. To get admission in Indian Institutes of Management, the candidate has to appear for entrance exam. Common Admission Test is the entrance exam conducted under the rotation policy by the Indian Institutes of Management. Candidates from within India should appear for the Common Admission Test. While overseas candidates can appear for the GMAT to get admission in Indian Institutes of Management. Common Admission Test is conducted in October/November during the period of 21 days. You can appear for it if meet the following criteria. CAT Eligibility 1. Bachelor's degree in any discipline. 2. At least 50 percent marks in it. 3. 45 percent are required for SC/ST. Exam Pattern Quantitative Ability Data Interpretation Verbal Ability Logical Reasoning After clearing the Common Admission Test you should apply for admission in Indian Institutes of Management. Regardless of how good marks you obtained, apply in as many IIMs as possible. Then wait for the call back from Indian Institutes of Management. Now as I mentioned earlier that there are 13 IIMs. Each has its own policy to select the candidates. Some IIMs like the IIM Ahmedabad gives some importance to marks in 12th standard as well. Around 90 percent weightage is given to CAT and 10 percent to 12th marks. There is no minimum marks criteria in 12th that you need to meet. But during the selection, having good marks in 12th will help you out. Similarly some IIMs also give importance to marks in 12th and 10th. But mostly the weightage is given to Common Admission Test. Once you get the callback it does not mean that you have been selected. You will go through group discussion and interview before being selected. |
