i ve got 90 and 75 prcntage in 10th n 12th respectively.......would der be any problem in getting iim call after clearing the cat exam???

You have secured a good score during 10th and 12th standard. But it is important that you have a good score during your graduation too. Also you need to make sure to fare well in all the areas in the CAT exam. After the exam you will need to clear the personal interview round. So you must prepare well for the same.

cat exam percentile is no way related to your 10th & 12th marks..

for getting any call from iim you only need to cross the cut off marks..

No the minimum requirements is 60 percent for both 10th and 12th
but to get a call from IIM you have to crack the CAT with atleast 98 to 99 percent .
Main is that you should have this much percentile of CAT score,which is the only way to get a call from the IIMs

I have got 75% and 60% in 10th and 10 2 respectively and got a GPA of 7.56 so far (5th sem) , if I score 99%ile(say) ,and attain to all the sectional cutoffs ,then will I get call from IIM-A or IIM-C??

HI URGENT!!
i got 89% and 92% in my class 10th and 12th respectively. My academics have been great till schooling.
AM pursuing CA and am sure of clearing the exams,just the finals are remaining and am doing my articleship from Ernst & Young(one of the Big4s of the world).
BUT the PROBLEM is due to certain personal reasons i got only 49% in first year of bcom and then had to drop out from second year,so now due the personal problems am doing second year now(1year gap between first and second year).
am i eligible to get into IIMs?
DO i still stand a chance? (i'll manage a very good percentile in CAT)

Hi

Your 10th and 12th marks are good. You need not worry. Just prepare for CAT and try to get as high percentile as possible.
In order to get into IIM you need to get 99+ percentile


your 10th and 12th marks not only play important role in getting IIM Call but also in final selection.

Many IIMs like top IIMs consider your academic background
For eg. inspite of very good CAT percentile, few people fail to get call from good IIMs simply because they have less marks in 10th and 12th.

Also the final admission in IIMs have the following components

- 10th marks
- 12th marks
- graduation marks
- CAT score
- GD
- PI
- extra curricular

since 10th and 12th component is present in final selection, it is important to have good 10th and 12th marks to increase your chance.

Admission in IIMs involves the following procedure

1. Common Admission Test-CAT
2. Group discussion
3. Interview.

IIMs are the most precious management colleges and every marks is imporatant for admission.
To be eligible for CAT, you must be graduate and must have scored a minimum of 50% in the same.
Candidates belonging to SC/ST category needs to score 45% in graduation to become eligible for CAT.
Once you qualify the test, you will be called for group discussion and interview.
Your performance in your class 10th and +2 examination will influence your interview.
