The IBPS written test consists of several things- numerical portion, English language, General knowledge.
For the numerical portion practice is the only key.
You should have a decent knowledge regarding the English Language. Watch all English news channels to enhance your skill.
The general knowledge portion is the toughest one. For this you should have a thorough knowledge and follow the newspaper and news channels daily.

The IBPS bank PO exam is a common entrance test to fill existing in nineteen national banks .
The exam is based on five major subjects -
Maths
reasonong
General knowledge
English
Computer awareness

Good books for those subjects -

General knowledge = manorama and competition success review .
computer awareness = Computer basics
Reasoning = R.S.Agarwal
Maths = R.S.Agarwal
English = Any standard banking material

There are total 250 questions in the paper but don't try to attempt all of those .Rather Than answer number of question per section try to answer each section for 30 minutes .For GK and computer give 20 minutes and split the remaining time in the other three.
Try to solve the privious year question papers .
