can any of mine friend inform me that what is the cracking criteria for CA-CPT exam now

CPT is damn easy; u can clear it with good marks without taking coaching in first attempt. T
ry to finish your syllabus of cpt before min 2 weeks before exams.
Then start practicing from the question banks provided by institute or even reputed CA publishers.
Try at least 3 model papers per day. Whichever questions which u feel very uncomfortable,unambiguous; circle that in question paper or copy them along with answer in separate copy.
Revise that in the night before cpt exam.

Passing criteria of Common Proficiency Test:

• A candidate shall ordinarily be declared to have passed the Common Proficiency Test if he obtains at one sitting a minimum of 50 percent marks in the aggregate of all the four subjects / sections comprised in CPT (Examination), subject to the principle of negative marking.
  
  
• It is clarified that there is no requirement of securing minimum passing marks in a subject/section of CPT examination.
  
  
• There will be negative marking for each wrong answer. 1/4 (One Fourth) mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. Please note that multiple darkened circles for a question will also be treated as wrong answer.
  
  
• Any fraction of mark in aggregate will be rounded off to the next full mark. It is clarified that there is no provision for improvement of result CPT examination in the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988.
  
  
• Therefore, such students who have once passed the CPT examination are not eligible to apply/appear afresh/again in the CPT examination.

so there is no 30% passing criteria in each subject.

So if you scored above this much percentage then you will crack this exam...

A tip for CPT students:Try to use the given options and put their value in the question which are too long.You will see it helps a lot and you wont have to solve the entire sum.If one option doesn't work try other one,after all there are only 4 options.But it works only for accounts and maths(but not for all sums).

CA-CPT stands for Charted Accoutancy - Common Proficiency Test.

CA CPT 2012 Eligibility :-

A student who has passed Common Proficiency Test and Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 examination) conducted by an examination body constituted by law in India or an examination recognized by the Central Government as equivalent thereto and passed CPT may join the Professional Competence Course.

First you can prepare your syllabus and then start practicing from the question banks provided by reputed CA publishers.

You can work hard and clear the exam.

Dear, Practice is the key. Make sure you cover all imp. topics . Try to grasp the concept not just cram what you dont understand. Scoring 100/200 is not a big deal.

CPT is easy if u follow following tricks.
1) Start early before exam.
2) First read books given by ICAI like story book in maximum 2 days/ subject. max 5 hours.
3) Practise maths on papers as much as possible.
4) Have practise to prepare without any coaching.
it's really easy. An average person can make century if ried this way.
Don't listen words like it's too tough.
U will shock to listen marks/ % of many(not all) successful CA/ doctors till ssc/hsc.
