Everything depends upon your self interest towards the topic.Each student may have his/her own topic's to select as an easily scored one.For example the topic which is easy for you may be treated as a tough topic by others.

But usually candidates prefer a group of topics to be easy to score.Some of the topics in Mathematics which are preferred by students are Co-ordinate Geometry,Calculus,Maxima and Minima,Trigonometry,Algebra.

Prefer standard books of NCERT,IIT Maths by M.L. Khanna to perform well in your exams.

IIT-Jee is considered amongst the toughest entrance-exam. It is not easy to crack .There is no any shortcut of success so, here also there is no any shortcut. You need to labour hard to achieve your goal.

As far as Mathematics is concerned , it is unpredictable. It keeps changing its format every year.

So, it is very difficult for me to tell you the names of scoring topics but I can suggest you the names of important topics. Completing these topics will make you to score good marks.The topics are as follows:
• CALCULUS
• CO-ORDINATE GEOM ETRY
• TRIGONOMETRY
• ALGEBRA
• VECTOR

Most of specialist suggests to study NCERT books for the preparation of IIT-JEE . So, follow their suggestion and complete NCERT book first.

Then i will suggest you to study from the book by M.L.KHANNA . The book of PRATYUSH KUMAR is also good.

The most important thing is your labour . Your chances of getting success depend on your hard labour only.

If you still feel insecure then follow the steps :
o Try to solve the previous year question papers.
o Purchase new IIT-JEE sample papers .
o Take part in online preparation test.
o Participate in test conducted by FIT-JEE.

In IIT questions which are asked are combination of 2 or more topics or concepts so if you leave any topic you have to suffer for that.
But the topics which are considered to be easy are as follows: Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus,Maxima & Minima,Vectors,Trigonometry,Coordinate Geometry.
Also try to solve previous yrs questions as it will help you a lot & some concepts came as it is only the difference is values.

You shouls also refer some standard books availble in market for IIT-JEE preparation.
Work Hard & Practise well.

in iit jee exam, the topics of maths from which one question surely comes are

complex number
conic section
limit
probability
so you can prepare these topics to get good marks in the exam.

Hey,
if you are very good at maths you may probably get into IIT.
But if you are so good at math I may suggest you not to neglect physics and chemistry.If you could even average marks in both of them you can get a rank below 500.So in addition to math prepare even for other subjects.

The IIT-JEE is considered to be very hard to crack because of surprises it comes up with every year , so nothing is 100% sure and you need a thorough preparation of all(or say most of ) the topics.

Still there are topics in mathematics which enjoy a biasing in regard most of questions are asked from these topics.

iit-jee is not similar to any other engineering entrance exams. It dffers in many ways like none of the question is of single topic , you have to face many topics in single question . But there are some topics which contibute more in exam like -
-co-ordinate geometry.
-algebra.
-calculas.
-vector-3D.

and for better result i advice u to dn't leave any topic by thinking tht its nt important....
and u must join some good test series which helps u to review ur concepts before exam..
