The Polytechnic course are the basic engineering courses mainly done after 10th. Polytechnic courses in India are mainly of 3 years to pursue or 3 and half years in some special cases. The range of engineering and technical course offered by the Polytechnics includes :

These topics are the basics for the chapters like Fourier series, Fourier transform, Probability etc which you will study in engineering course. Thus you must have knowledge of these basics. Without maths you will not be able to pass engineering course (after diploma in polytechnics).
