Hey friend,

To join in Indian Air Force which is one of the Defence force of India and the others are Indian Army and Indian Navy.

For joining in Indian Air Force you need to write the Entrance exam for it as it is the general procedure of joining in IAF or any of the forces.

The entrance exam can be written on depending on the qualification which you possess as you need to satisfy the framed criteria's for the exams for which you are applying.

As per that you havn't mentioned your qualification by which i could say which exam you can write and the needed age limit for it as the age limit differs for different entrance exams.

But as far possible i can only say that the minimum qualification by which you can join in Indian Air Force is by writing the NDA exam as it offers candidates to join in Defence forces with a minimum qualification

As per that exam the minimum age limit needed for joining in Indian Air Force is that you need to have 16 1/2-19 years of age.

With only satisfying the age limit you cannot apply for the exam as you need to satisfy the other criteria's too and as per that you need to satisfy the:

>> Nationality

>> Martial Status

>> Age Limit

>> Physical Standard


The Nationality standard needed is that you need to be a citizen of India and you need to be a unmarried male candidate.

Education qualification needed is that you need to have completed +2 with Physics and Mathematics as subjects




If you are satisfying them all then you can apply for the NDA Exam

you can join indian air force by appling nda exam which is conducted by upsc twice in a year.

For Becoming and Air force Pilot A candidate should have to satisfy the following Criteria....

Eligibility and Criteria:

>> A Candidate Must have completed their Graduation Degree with at least 55% form Recognized Universities. Final Year student may also Applicable for IAF.

>> Age Limit Should be between 21-30 years for General and There is Relaxation Available For OBC student to 21-33 years and For SC/ST student to 21-35 years.

A candidate have to Apply for it's Entrance Exam which is conducted every year.
This year Exam Date was 09 - 12 july 2012. which is already close so, apply it for Next year.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Candidate must be 10+2 passed.

2. Must be citizen of India.

3. Age Limit: 16.5-19 years

4. Only unmarried male candidates can apply.

CDS Exam

AFCAT Exam


Eligibility for NDA:

A candidate must have completed their 12th standard with Maths....

Age of candidate should be between 16 1/2 to 19 years....

Only Unmarried Male are Eligible.....

Nationality of Indian......

Eligibility for CDS:

A candidate should have completed their graduation with atleast 50% from Recognized Universities

Age Should be between 19 to 23 years....

Eligibility for AFCAT:

A candidate must have completed their Graduation Degree in Engineering Stream.....

Age of Candidate should be between 21 to 30 years.....
