Nanotechnologists need a minimum of a Masters level of education. They need creativity, an aptitude for analysis and problem-solving and strong skills in mathematics, science and computing. Nanotechnologists conduct research and need to be able to visualize and explain ideas clearly. They need to be able to work independently and work well with a multidisciplinary team. Excellent laboratory skills and attention to detail are essential.

You must study Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology at 10+2 level and also completed Graduation in this field to become eligible for Masters course in Nanotechnology.

There are some 5 years integrated courses available after 10+2 which is offered by some Universities.

The M.Tech. programs are available for Graduates which belong to Physics and Maths field. So if you are interested in nanotechnology then you must opt for Graduation in field which involve physics and maths.

Some of the colleges which offer M.Tech course in Nanotechnology are listed below:

-National Institute of Technology (NIT) Calicut

-Department of Physics of Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi

-Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee

-Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore

-Department of Physics and Astrophysics, University of Delhi

-Anna University, Coimbatore (www.annauniv.ac.in)- M.Tech in Nanotechnology.

-Periyar Maniamma University, Vallam, Thanjavur

-Bharathiar University, Coimbatore

-SRM University, Kattankulathur

-Amrita Institute of Medical Science, Kochi

-Kalasalingam University, Anandnagar, Krishnankoil, Virudunagar, Tamil Nadu,

-Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi
