Re: What can I do after studying as a marine engineer? I have completing B.E EEE
Marine engineers are in complete charge of the engine room of a ship. The functioning of the various devices like electric motors, steam engines, propulsive engines, etc. They also develop newer designs for the engines of sailing vessels and check the efficiency of existing equipments like gas or stem turbines, diesel or nuclear propulsion plants etc\.
After graduating as a marine engineer one can get a job in a ship as a third assistant engineer or fourth engineer with a starting salary of Rs. 40,000-Rs.60,000 . If someone opts to join an oil tanker the salary becomes even higher. Offshore job opportunities include – Recruitment in ports. Recruitments by Shipping industries. Government jobs in the Directorate General of Shipping As Teachers in Educational institutes For those who want to join Government Service can join Directorate General Shipping of India. Those with entrepreneurial skills can enter the field of entrepreneurship. Thanks... |
