No problem ji..!!

you can become IAS officer. there is no compulsion by UPSC exam authorities that the candidate who is applying for Civil Service exam must be from a particular branch of degree.

Every degree holder is eligible to take this examination that's the reason why the eligibility criterion for UPSC exam is that simple.first look at the eligibility criteria required that to be fulfilled by a candid .

->The candidate that means you have to complete your minimum age of 21 years.
->The applicant that means again you should have a degree certificate of any stream from a recognized Indian University.

Its all enough to appear in civil service exam. this is the exam which makes you an IAS / IPS officer.

The only problem for you is while selecting the optional subject for your mains examination.
For some reasons there is no optional that is related to Computer science or IT field.
No problem at this time also you have to select other interested optional for you. While selecting an optional subject the thing that should be kept in mind is your interest.

Any branch or stream subject it may be you can select. there is no compulsion to take a particular subject its all your choice.

This is all about your query.
I hope my post had helped you in understanding your eligibility for the exam.

Further I want to give you an official link of UPSC : Union Public Service Commission .

Hello Jyoti,
It really doesn't matters which stream you belong to, if you are a graduate, you are eligible for civil service exam.
The minimum eligible age is 21 years and the maximum age limit is 30 years.

After the change in the format of the exam, the preliminary exam, now comprise of two compulsory papers and is known as civil service aptitude test.
It is based on general studies and aptitude testing.

After qualifying this exam, you will move on to the Main exam, which comprise of compulsory as well as optional papers. Unfortunately, computer science is not in the list of the optional subjects and hence, you have to choose other subjects for the same.
