i wanted to know what is caste validity certificate..i have my caste certificate from u.p. state and now live in Maharashtra..want to do engineering for mumbai university..
is it necessary my caste validity certificate should also be from..u.p.state..?
plz suggest other info. necessary...for admission in first year engineering..

so how should i renew my obc certificate?
what needs to be done and how long wil it take to get a renewed certificate , once i hav applied for it???

Caste Validity Certificate is a certificate issued by the government based on your caste. It is issued by checking the background details of the person like the grand father, great grand father, bloodline and relatives about the caste. If they are genuine then the person will be issued Caste Validity Certificate.
If the persons details are not matched or not genuine then the person will be rejected and will not get the benefits of the caste.

This caste validity certificate is different from the caste certificate.

This certificate is given for the candidates to get the benefits from the government like jobs, seats reservation and etc.,

It is absolutely necessary that without validity certificate, first year engineering can not be admitted. But if you are from an Open category then you can get admission without Caste Validity Certificate. You need a successful online application which is very well understood here.
