Computer Networking

Definition :- Computer Networking Means connecting Different computer & its files and resource with bunch of other computers through peer to peer Or Client Server.

Why Computer Networking :-
* If you are Sitting in front of your Computer & you don't have Internet facility Or you don't network Facility, Then your computer is of what use ?

*People are getting more populated and advanced, They Need Every thing in a small pack of box.

*Take an Example :-
  • If you are staying in a Hostel, And you need a file/video/data from some of your friend, & he stays some what in other room, You will run to him with a pen drive asking for that File.

  • But if your computer/laptop is connected to Network through LAN wire, Then it will be very easily for you to access files from his computer to your computer, And you needn't to go again again.

That was One of the major Advantageous.

Computer Networking is vast area, and Its career is also Bright. because Every where computer Networking is Increasing.

You will find Its application @ MNC companies, Small scale Industries, Big industries.

So if you are thinking of your career in this Field, Then go for it....

Just a simple line :

To connect to diffrent or more computers by a network that called computer n/w.

now in tech. terms : to connect to diff n/w or same n/w with some host devices(copmuter ) that called computer N/W.

A computer network is a collection of computers and devices interconnected by

communications channels helps to communications among users and allows them share

resources For communication to take place we should have to make connection

between then which .can be made by these two methods

Connection method
1.wired :
A Twisted pair
B Coaxial cable
C Optical fiber

2.wireless:

A :Terrestrial microwave
B :Infrared communication
C: Communications satellites

Computer networks may be classified according to the network topology upon which the

network is based, such as bus network, star network, ring network, mesh network

Common types of computer networks may be identified by their scale.
A: Local area network
B: Personal area network
C: Home area network
D: Wide area network and many more

Computer Networking means interconnections of no of systems...
For eg: college labs those are LANs:- Local area Network...
Internet is the best example..... In internet different systems are connected to one server....
In computer networking various files are shared between systems.......

dear friend

computer networking is a subject which deals with the study of connections of several computers through a network or through the internet.
it deals with the different protocols used for transfer of data

if you want to study this subject follow the book by Dr.Behrouz A Forouzan . it is like the bible for networking.

Dear,

Computer Networking is the engineering discipline concerned with the communication between computer systems or devices.

OR we can say that Computer Networking is sub-discipline of Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology.

In Computer Networking, there is three types of networks i.e.
i. Internet,
ii. Intranet and
iii. Extranet.

In Computer Networking all networks are interconnected to allow communication with a variety of different kinds of media, including twisted-pair copper wire cable, coaxial cable, optical fiber, power lines and various wireless technologies.

All the Best

Computer networking
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This article is about computer networking, the discipline of engineering computer networks. For the article on computer networks, see Computer network.
"Datacom" redirects here. For other uses, see Datacom (disambiguation).
Network cards such as this one can transmit and receive data at high rates over various types of network cables. This card is a 'Combo' card which supports three cabling standards.

Computer networking or Data communications (Datacom) is the engineering discipline concerned with the communication between computer systems or devices. A computer network is any set of computers or devices connected to each other with the ability to exchange data.[1] Computer networking is sometimes considered a sub-discipline of telecommunications, computer science, information technology and/or computer engineering since it relies heavily upon the theoretical and practical application of these scientific and engineering disciplines. The three types of networks are: the Internet, the intranet, and the extranet. Examples of different network methods are:

* Local area network (LAN), which is usually a small network constrained to a small geographic area. An example of a LAN would be a computer network within a building.
* Metropolitan area network (MAN), which is used for medium size area. examples for a city or a state.
* Wide area network (WAN) that is usually a larger network that covers a large geographic area.
* Wireless LANs and WANs (WLAN & WWAN) are the wireless equivalent of the LAN and WAN.

All networks are interconnected to allow communication with a variety of different kinds of media, including twisted-pair copper wire cable, coaxial cable, optical fiber, power lines and various wireless technologies.[2] The devices can be separated by a few meters (e.g. via Bluetooth) or nearly unlimited distances (e.g. via the interconnections of the Internet[3]). Networking, routers, routing protocols, and networking over the public Internet have their specifications defined in documents called RFCs.[4]

hello my dear,
the basic overview of computer networking as follows-

Definition -
Computer networks are interconnections of many computers. They share resources such as electronic mail, bulletin boards, and access to unique databases.. In a computer network the individual stations, called "nodes," may be computers, terminals, or communication units of various kinds.

Networks that are contained within a building or small geographical area are called local-area networks, or LANs.

Need of Computer Networking -

1. when you are staying in any room, you need any data you need
a pen drive.
but when we use networking then we needn't to go again again.

2. Computer network helps in sharing Resources.

there is a bright future of comuter networking.
best of luck.

When we want to share some information through the computer systems through each other then it is considered to be computer networking.

"Education and career forum" is also a part of the computer networking in which we are posting the helpful answers for those who need them.

In other words we can say that ,"When data is exchanged through the various computers connected to each other".
The three types of networks are: the Internet, the intranet, and the extranet. The examples of these networks methods are-
1. Local area network (LAN)
2. Metropolitan area network (MAN)

Post Re: What is the computer networking?

Computer Networking:-
A computer network is a system in which computers are connected to share information and resources. The connection can be done as peer-to-peer or client/server.

A computer network can be two or more computers connected.

Characteristics of a Computer Network:-
1) The primary purpose of a computer network is to share resources.

a) You can play a CD music from one computer while sitting on another computer.

b) You may have a computer with a CD writer or a backup system but the other computer doesn’t have it; In this case, you can burn CDs or make backups on a computer that has one of these but using data from a computer that doesn’t have a CD writer or a backup system.

c) You may have a computer that doesn’t have a DVD player. In this case, you can place a movie DVD on the computer that has a DVD player, and then view the movie on a computer that lacks a DVD player.

d) You can connect a printer (or a scanner, or a fax machine) to one computer and let other computers of the network print (or scan, or fax) to that printer (or scanner, or fax machine).

e) You can place a CD with pictures on one computer and let other computers access those pictures You can create files and store them in one computer, then access those files from the other computer(s) connected to it.

2) Types of computer networking:-
a) Peer-to-Peer Networking
b) Client/Server Networking

I am attaching a pdf which has even more explanation on it.You may view that too.

Computer networking is that by which we can communicate each other with in a long distance.and it is also useful for finding data which are required for us.
And we can say a computer network is a system in which computers are connected to share information and data. The connection can be done with the help of client/server technology. A computer network can be connected two or more computers for sharing the information..
