you will be able to get the forms from designated branches of post office and gpo's.

form will contains a brouchere which will help you to fill it.

IAS exam is conducted by UPSC every year.
For 2011 also, IAS will be conducted by UPSC.
The eligibility criteria for IAS:
graduate in any course or equivalent
21-30 years of age.
no. of attempts- 4 for general students.

The last date of form submission is on 21st March '2011.

Eligibility criteria:-

you should be Graduate in any stream from Recognized university.

you age should be between 21-30 years of age.

your nationality should be Indian.

And if you belongs to General then no of attempt is only 4 times.

I have attached the UPSC 2011 notification please read carefully to clear all doubts.And also attached revised syllabus pattern for prelims from 2011 and one model question paper.please find the attachments.

the criteria for the IAS exam is that you should be a minimum of the graduate form any of the recognized college ...with a minimum of the 60% marks ..

last date for the receipt of the application form of the IAS entrance exam is 21st march 2011(monday)...

IAS exam is conducted by UPSC every year.
For 2011 also, IAS will be conducted by UPSC.
The eligibility criteria for IAS:
graduate in any course or equivalent
21-30 years of age.

Hello friend,
The basic criteria for applying into the IAS exam will be graduation in any discipline of education and the can't be more than 30 year of age.
The application form for the IAS will be issued on 19th february 2011 and the last date of submission of the application form will be 21st march 2011.

(i) Age limits :


21-30 years as on 1.7.2011. (Upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs, OBCs

(ii) Educational Qualifications :


Bachelor’s degree of a recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physcs, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Enginerring or an equivalent qualification

(iii) No. of permissible attempts :


Four (Seven attemps of OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs (Para 3 (iv) of Notice)

(iv) Fee :

Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only)
(No fee for SCs/STs/Physically disabled only)


The last date of form submission is on 21st March '2011

The minimum age qualification for the IAS exam is 21-30 years.


you should be a graduate for taking this exam.

Maximum 4 attempts are allowed for general category.

IAS examination is the civil service examination. the examination date for civil service preliminary examination is 12th June, 2011 and the date of examination for civil service main examination is 29th October, 2011.


the eligibility criterion for civil service examination is you should have minimum of graduation degree from any recognized university. your age must be in between 21 to 30.

ias exam is conducted by upsc. any student who have done graduation in any field with at least 60% marks is eligible to give the exam.

Age limits :

The candidate must have attained the age of 21 yrs and must not attained

the age of 30 yrs on 1st of Aug,2011.

Education qualification :

The candidate must possess a graduate degree from any recognized

university.Those in the final year of a degree course can also eligible.

The Criteria for IAS exam is very simple....

The minimum educational criteria is a bachelors degree in any discipline from any recognized university.......

The age limit criteria is that your age should have crossed 21 years and must not have crossed 30 years.

This is the only criteria to apply for IAS exam.

Academic Eligibility for IAS Exams

* A degree of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be a Deemed University under the UGC Act, 1956, or an equivalent qualification.
* Candidates who have appeared or intend to appear for the qualifying examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to appear for the Preliminary Examination. All such candidates who qualify to appear for the Civil Services Main Examination must produce proof of having passed the said examination along with their application for the Main Examination.
* The UPSC may in exceptional cases treat a candidate without the foregoing requisite qualification as an eligible candidate if he / she has passed an examination conducted by other institutions, the standard of which justifies his / her admission in the opinion of the Commission.

(2) Age Limit
i. A candidate must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination.
ii. The upper age limit is relaxed in specific cases as mentioned below:

a. upto a maximum of 5 years if the candidate belongs to SC/ST.
b. upto a maximum of 3 years if the candidate belongs to Other Backward Classes.
c. upto a maximum of 5 years if the candidate had been domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir during the period between January 1, 1980 and December 31, 1989.
d. upto a maximum of 3 years in the case of Defence Services personnel disabled during hostilities with foreign countries or in a disturbed area and consequently released.
e. upto a maximum of 5 years in the case of ex-servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECOs / SSCOs who have rendered at least five years Military Service as on August 1 of the year of examination and have been released:
o on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year from August 1 of the year of examination) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency, or
o on account of physical disability attributable to Military Service, or
o on invalidment.
f. upto a maximum of 5 years in the case of ECOs / SSCOs who have completed an initial period of assignment (5 years Military Service) as on August 1 of the year of examination and whose assignment has been extended beyond 5 years. Such candidates will have to provide a certificate from the Ministry of Defence stating that they can apply for civil employment and they will be released on a notice of 3 months, upon selection, from the date of receipt of offer of appointment.
g. upto a maximum of 10 years in the case of blind, deaf-mute and orthopaedically handicapped candidates.

Genaral critaria of IAS exem is :
Graduate passed(with any stream) from govt approved college/university.
Age limit is 21-30 for general students,and 5 years more for SC/ST/OBC candidates...
You can apply for UPSC exem Maximum 4 times...

IAS (Indian Administrative Service) exam conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission).

Minimum Eligibility for IAS UPSC Exam: -

1. Age - 21 Years To 30 Years

2. Nationality - Indian

3. Education - Graduation in any stream with 65 % minimum marks from a regonised institute / university.

for ias exam
1-you should be graduate form any reconised university or college
2 your age must be between 21 to 30 years,(5 years relexsation for sc/st student).
you can give this exam only4 times(gen) and 7 times(obc),no limitation for (sc/st).

last date of submission of form is 21 march 2011.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR IAS:

Educational Qualifications for IAS :
