Becoming a astronaut to travel the space and spend time in international space station is a dream that a lot of adventure seekers see. They want a chance to see Earth looking like a blueberry from the outer space.

As much as it sounds interesting, there is always a danger associated with this field. Becoming a Astronaut is not a easy job. There is no single course after which you will become astronaut. You will have to study hard and complete various degrees that would take at least 10 years to become astronaut.

Here is the process which you need to follow after completing 12th.

Procedure

1. You must complete 12th with PCM as the subjects.

2. The next step would be to pursue graduation degree in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, biology or B.Tech in Aerospace. For B.Tech course, you will have to appear for entrance exams such as ISEET.

3. After you have completed graduation, you should complete post graduation followed by the PhD.

4. The procedure is same for the engineering candidates. They will have to appear for GATE entrance exam for admission in post graduation.

5. In the next step you will have to gain 3 years of related and progressively experience.

6. Now you are eligible to apply for NASA. There is a exam conducted by NASA for Scientists and Astronauts. You will have to appear for it.

7. If you passed the exam, NASA will select you for the Mission Specialist job.

Before you could head to space, there would be a need to prepare you for the challenges such as zero gravity and the extreme pressure felt during crossing the earth's atmosphere. NASA has a training facility to prepare eligible candidates to handle all the challenges of space. You will go through various tests like Aircraft weightless training lessons, Shuttle Mission Simulator etc.
