Re: What is the eligibility for CA-CPT exam?
NO, eligibility for CA-CPT is minimum 12th...
There are 2 ways to take admission in CA.. 1. through CPT 2. through GRADUATION if you want to do CA after 12 then you have to go through CPT, AND if you first do GRADUATION , you will get one relaxation i.e you will directly get admission in IPCC( group-1) , you dont need to go through CPT... Now i m telling you the details about CA... There are 4 stages ... 1. CPT or a graduation degree - minimum 55% required if you opt BCOM or BCOM(H) at graduation level. - minimum 60% required if you opt any other graduation course. SUBJECTS IN CPT.. -FUNDAMENTALS OF ACCOUNTING -MERCANTILE LAW -GENERAL ECONOMICS -QUANTITATIVE APPTITUTE 2. IPCC -2 -Paper 1:Accounting -Paper 2:Law, Ethics and Communication -Paper 3:Cost Accounting and Financial Management -Paper 4:Taxation 3. IPCC-2 -Paper 5: Advanced Accounting (100 marks) Paper 6: Auditing and Assurance (100 marks) Paper 7: Information Technology and Strategic Management » Section A: Information Technology (50 marks) » Section B: Strategic Management (50 marks) To pass a student has to obtain a minimum of 40% in each paper and an aggregate of 50% in all the papers of both the groups together if attempting both the groups or all the papers of a single group, failing which the student has to reappear in all the papers of that group/groups again. THEN you have to go through 2.5 years of ARTICLESHIP in a COMPANY OR UNDER A REGISTERED CA... 4.FINAL Then after clearing all these steps you will be a CA... |

Re: What is the eligibility for CA-CPT exam?
You should have completed 12th standard to appear for the Common Proficiency Test. While it is possible to register for the Common Proficiency Test after completing 10th standard, you can only appear for the test upon clearing 12th standard.
Which means that you should complete 12th. May be some of the websites you are mentioning are probably talking about registering and not actually appearing for the test. Anyway now you know that completing 12th standard is necessary. The marks in 12th standard as well what subjects have been taken is not necessary. You only have to complete 12th standard. Common Proficiency Test is conducted in June and December. You should be able to clear it to continue with the Chartered Accountancy course. CPT Exam Pattern 1. Fundamentals of Accountancy 2. Economics 3. Mercantile Law 4. Quantitative Aptitude The four subjects mentioned above and divided into two groups. You have to score 30 percent in each group to clear Common Proficiency Test. While for 12th pass candidates it is necessary to clear the Common Proficiency Test, candidates who have completed graduation can seek exemption. Under the rules of ICAI, candidate with valid Bachelor's degree is not required to appear for Common Proficiency Test if meets the following criteria. Exemption Criteria 1. Should have 55 percent marks in commerce graduation. 2. Non commerce graduates should have 60 percent marks. |

Holders of bachelor degree course with minimum 55% percentage of marks for Commerce stream and 60% Percentage of marks in Non Commerce stream from recognized university are exemption from CPT Entrance Examination. Re: What is the eligibility for CA-CPT exam?
Dear Mugundh,
The Acronym "CPT" stands for .Common proficiency Test This Test is conducted for those students who want to pursue Chartered Accountancy Course. As per your query , i just want to tell you that its completely false that the minimum educational qualification required for appearing in Common Proficiency Test is 10th standard. The websites might have described 10th standard as the time of registering with ICAI for Common Proficiency Test. I want to tell you that you can only appear for the Common Proficiency Test if you have passed 12th standard.Students are just advised to register for CPT with ICAI [Institute Of Chartered Accountants Of India] after passing the 10th standard. The Common Proficiency Test is conducted twice every year in the months of June and December. The Common Proficiency Test Syllabus : 1) Economics 2) Mercantile Law 3) Quantitative Aptitude 4) Fundamentals of Accountancy These four subjects are further categorized into two groups in a way that the candidates have to secure a minimum of 30% marks in each group to clear the Common Proficiency Test. Those candidates who pass the Common Proficiency Test , have to go for the IPCC [Integrated Professional Competence Course]. This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want. |
