I am pranay gour, i have qualified JEE 2012, and i got 4 year B.Tech Civil engineering couse in IIT bhubaneshwar, i am satisfied with the course allotted to me but i found there is not much money in this field, so plz tell me how much starting pakage can i expect, and what should i do (like some additional course) to improve my pakage??????

what are all things that to be done by (me) B.E,1st year civil student to get a salary of about 1 lakh after my course completion other than studies?

Salary Range for Civil Engineering students;-

Diploma civil Engineer Salary – 10000 to 15000 per Month
BE/Btech Civil Engineer Salary – 20000 to 25000 per Month
IIT Gradate civil Engineer Salary – 30000 to 60000 per Month

Salary depends on your performance in engineering and from the college where you have done it.If you have good marks in engineering and you have good knowledge then you will have good salary.Approximate salary for fresh civil engineer which comes in above condition which i have written will have 40000 to 50000 starting per month.If you have good knowledge about your subject and you have done you B.TECH from some good institution.If you don't apply above condition then average salary will be around 15000 to 25000 for fresher.So salary depends on you almost.

Dear Friend

Civil engineering is one of the core branch of engineering .Right now day by day the demand of civil engineers are increasing in the industry.

You are saying that there is very less money in this field ,this is totally wrong.Your initial salary depends upon lot of factors :

>>The institute from which you have obtained your degree.

>>Your % of marks throughout.

>>Your level of knowledge.

>>The status of firm in which you are going to work.

So initially your salary may be around 30000 to 45000 rupees but it will increase as your experience will increase in this field.

If your are from some private colleges other IIT or NIT ,it may be around 15000-30000 rupees.

The growth of average annual salary for civil engineers in Industry :

Note: One thing must be kept in mind that freshers are given less salary as they expect but do not worry it will increase with your performance.

Dear,
First you Concentrate in your studies and don't think about higher salary,and don't compare your salary with IT and Computer science Students in other IIT'S.
After Pass out definetly you will find out good job of Average Salary 7 TO 8 Lac per Annum.then after some Experience you can pursue Mtech or MBA and increase your Package.
There are very few of Students those are Getting Salaries 1.0 and 1.5 Crore per Annum.so don't confuse with them because maximum are posted in US.and in US this is nominal Salary Approx 7K$ to 8K$ per month for Indian Brilliant Mind.

I am Robel Kanti Deb. I work in a architect and engineer company since 7 years in kolkata. Now i got 20000 per month. But no PF, TA etc.I was a animation student. I completed animation from Arena. But doing a job in a engineering company I have got knowledge about this. Now i have join Karnataka State Open University for completing diploma course in civil. The course will completed in 2017.
