Re: What kind of jobs one gets after B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering?
Dear Friend
Mechanical engineering is one of the core engineering branches on which the pillars of all small/large industry stands. So you can get a job in any section of an industry. These sections could be Maintenance Department, Designing Department, Operational Department or ofcourse the R&D section and also the management section. It all depends on the companies' requirement that where one would get to work. Generally, companies make the job profile clear at the time of joining. But it use to be interchangeable with other department. Sometimes a particular person's works decide that which kind of job he/she would. If you have a good knowledge of machine designing and you have experience in it (like your summer training and project work) you can easily get a job of designing. Therefore, the very first thing is company's requirement and the 2nd is your knowledge and experience of a particular field that decide the kind of job you may get in a company. I would suggest you not to worry for the kind of job you will get in future. You should complete your study well and do project work according to your interest. This will help you getting job according to your interest because of experience. During studies you are free to work on anything but in industry you won't have such freedom. So, try to bend your job profile according to your interest by taking experience in it through project work and training. Thank You |
