What is the minimum percentage for WBCS exam?I have 40% marks in graduation so I want to know am I eligible for this exam?

West Bengal Civil Services Commission conducts WBCS Exams every year for the recruitments of staffs and officers in 20 departments of West Bengal Government.

This is a bit tough exam but a good preparation can make you successful with ease.

*There are 4 groups of WBCS examination: (Group A, Group B, Group C, Group D).

Eligibilty criteria to appear for WBCS exam:-

WBCS Exam Educational Qualifications eligibility:

>> you should have completed your graduation degree(with or without honors) from a recognized University,
>> the ability to read, write and speak in Bengali.

WBCS Exam Criteria Age Bar:

>> Not below 21 years but not more than 32 years for services and posts included in Group ‘A’, ’C’ and ‘D’.
>> For the West Bengal Police Service only (i.e. Group ‘B’ Service) age not below 20 years but not more than 32 years.
>>SC/ST/OBC candidates will have the pleasure of 5yrs relaxation for all categories of WBCS examination.

WBCS Exam Pattern:-


The WBCS Exam is held on 3 successive stages;>>the Preliminary Examination (Objective Type),
>>and the Main Examination (Subjective Type),
>> Personality Test/ interview.

West Bengal Civil Services Examination is conducted by the state government of west Bengal.There is no marks required to appear in West Bengal Civil Services Exam.Eligibility which is required to be fulfilled by the candidates is as follows :
~Candidates should be passed out in Graduation course from any recognized university.
~Candidates age should be between 21 years to 35 years.

Additional age relaxation of 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC and ST candidates will be given to reserved category candidates of west Bengal state.

You have completed your bachelor degree course,so you will be eligible to apply for WBCS Exam.candidates who are from the state of West Bengal will given preferences during selection process.

Examination Pattern :
-->>Preliminary Exam.
-->>Mains Exam.

Preliminary Exam will have two papers.Each paper will be of 200 marks.All questions will be objective type.Each paper will be of 2 hour and 3 minutes.

Syllabus details for Preliminary Exam of West Bengal Civil Services Exam is :
-->>English Composition - It will be of 25 Marks.
-->>General Science - It will be of 25 Marks.
-->>Current Events on National and International news - It will be 25 of marks.
-->>History of India - It will be of 25 Marks.

-->>Indian Politics and Economics - It will be of 25 Marks.
-->>Indian National Movement - It will be of 25 Marks.
