What is the minimum percentage required in graduation to become an IAS officer?


How many times can a general student appear it..???
i.e. consecutively or randomly i can attempt it...???
In the selection process are the 10th, +2 and Graduation (Marks/Percentage/C.G.P.A/Percentile) are considered...???

age should be 20 to 30 years.

To appear in the IAS exams you need to appear in the UPSC Civil Services Exams


Eligibilty to apply for the UPSC Civil Services Exams


Educational Qualification :

General Category-21-30 yrs on 1st August of the year of exam

Details About IAS Exam:

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service and this is a part of Civil Services, for joining in as an IAS officer the UPSC conducts the IAS exam.

To apply for this exam there are criteria's which are needed to be satisfied which includes such as :

# Nationality
# Age limit
# Educational qualification

-> The candidate appearing should have a Citizenship in India

-> Age limit needed for General category candidate is 21-30 years

-> For SC/ST candidate it is 21-35 years and for OBC it is 21-33 years

-> There is no certain percentage needed to be achieved to apply for the exam, but the candidate should have completed a degree from a recognized university in any stream of education.

The candidate who satisfies all these criteria is eligible for applying for the IAS exam. Regarding the number of attempts you can appear for it consecutively but only upon the number of attempts which is allowed for the category.

For SC/ST - 6
For OBC - 5
For General - 3

**To become an IAS Officer you need to be a Graduate from the recognized University in any discipline having minimum pass marks or more you can write UPSC conducted IAS(Indian Administrative Services)entrance examination.This exam is the part of Indian Civil Services.

**A final year candidate can also apply.

AGE: General 21-30 years within this time you are allowed 7 chances to clear the exam.(It may be consecutively or randomly).

Selection Process:-

1.Preliminary Exam.

2.Main Exam.

3.Interview.

Selection to be done on the basis of total marks obtained ie as per merit.

There is no minimum percentage required in graduation to apply this exam.

Because for apply IAS exam the minimum Education qualification is Graduation degree in any stream from a recognized University.

IAS exam is conducted by UPSC under Civil Services exam.

Eligibility criteria:-

Candidate should be an Indian citizen.

Candidate should be completed Graduation degree in any stream from a recognized University.

Age should be between 21 years to 30 years for General category candidates.

Age relaxation for OBC category candidates 3 years

And SC/ST category candidates 5 years.

IAS(Indian Administrative Service) is conducted by Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) every year.

There is no minimum percentage required in Graduation to Appear in IAS.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR IAS:

Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in any stream.

Age Qualification: 21 to 30 years for general candidate and 33 years for OBC and 35 years for SC/ST.

Maximum attempts: 3 for General candidates and 5 for OBC.No maximum attempts for SC/ST.

Citizenship: Indian.
