Punjabi University, Patiala is one of the well known Universities in India, with several colleges affiliated to it. The University conducts full time M.Ed course having duration of one year. Admission to Master of Education is based on the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the qualifying examination and on the score obtained in the entrance test conducted by the University. After completing this course candidates can look for job opportunities in various B.Ed colleges in Punjab.

Eligibility

Bachelor in Education with a minimum of 50% of aggregate marks is the basic qualification. Candidates are required to have at least 45% marks in their graduation or post graduation. Candidates are required to fulfill all the selection criteria prescribed by the University. Final selection will be based on the composite score obtained in the entrance test conducted by the University. Candidates belonging to reserved category can avail the benefits as per the government norms at the time of admission.

Admission Process

Eligible candidates are required to apply for the entrance test conducted by the University. Application cum prospectus form can be obtained from the Enquiry & information Centre of Punjabi University on cash payment of Rs. 1800/-. Candidates belonging to reserved category requires to pay Rs. 900/- for the application form. Handbook of information and application form can also be obtained from the official website of the University. Candidates are required to fill the OMR application form carefully, as mentioned in the prospectus. Duly filled form along with supporting documents should be sent to the Office of Punjabi University within the last date. Late applications will be rejected without intimation. Shortlisted candidates will be called for entrance exam.

Entrance exam will have objective type multiple choice questions. There will be 75 questions within a time limit of one and half hour. Candidates can expect questions from B.Ed course curriculum. Candidates are required to obtain a minimum of 20% marks to qualify the entrance exam. Candidates will be shortlisted according to their merit in the written exam and will be called for counseling/ interview process. Candidates are required to pay an amount of Rs. 300/- at the time of counseling.  Entrance test score has a validity of one academic year. Final selection will be based on the scores obtained by the candidate and the seats availability in the colleges.
