Re: What is Production Engineering?
Industrial Engineering and Production engineering course has a wide scope in manufacturing and automation field. Production engineers work in all branches and industries in which products are manufactured in industrial processes. Employment opportunities are to be found in mechanical and plant engineering, in automobile engineering, in power-generating, in the electrical industry, in the precision engineering industry, in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, in the textile industry, the paper industry, iron and steel industry, food and semi-luxury foods and tobacco industry. The industry offers a wide choice of options extending across many interdisciplinary interdependent specialties. So there is ample job opportunity in these sectors. For Mtech you need to qualify GATE. Both the fields have good scope, the decision should be made by you , keeping in mind where your strengths lie and what really interests you before choosing a career in any of these fields. Few other specializations in Mechanical engineering are Mechatronics/robotics, transport and logistics, cryogenics, fuel technology, automotive engineering, biomechanics, vibration and optics. You should focus on entering a specialisation / job that suits your interests and match that with the abundance of opportunities that will arise in the field. We suggest that you talk to your seniors, Lecturers, take their viewpoint and then after exploring all avenues take an informed step. GNE Ludhiana is a reputed College, you can check for the details personally from the college admin office. Revert for further assistance. Good luck.

Hello friend,
The market is highly competitive. Every company promises to provide quality products in an affoardable price. All the companies conducts survey to understand the needs of customers and accordingly the products are designed. So, The companies needs to run a continuous process of manufacturing and improvement of products as required. This process includes various stages including product designing and costing and the one who looks after the whole process of production is known as production engineer. As you have understood the responsibility of production engineer, you can understand its prospect as well. The competition is ever growing and so is the requirement of such professionals. |
