To became an IPS officer you have to fulfill some eligibility criteria which are as follows:
Qualification- The candidates should be a graduate in any discipline from a recognize university.

Age Limit: The age limit is 21 - 30 yrs
There is a age relaxation for reserved candidates.

No of Attempts:General- 4,
Obc- 7
Sc/ST- un limited

Candidates must be Indian

Candidates have Degree in any stream from a recognized University

3 years age relaxation for OBC Candidates

Selection Process based on Three stages i.e Preliminary Examination , Main Examination & Interview .

Modern Indian Language exam :

The candidates will have to choose one out of 22 scheduled languages .

The test will include comprehension , usage & vocabulary , precis writing , translation & short essay .
