Candidates should be graduates so as to apply for IPS post. One can choose any subject to do graduation. Graduation should be taken from a recognized institute. 30 years is the maximum age limit for this exam. They should appear for UPSC Civil Services exam so as to get selection for IPS post. On clearing this exam, they should attend physical test and personal interview.

Educational qualification for IPS is as follows:
Age limit: 21-years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs . Ex-servicemen will get 5 more years exemption. Number of Attempts : Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. Restrictions on applying for the examination: A candidate who is appointed to the Indian Administrative Service or the Indian Foreign Service on the results of an earlier examination and continues to be a member of that service will not be eligible to compete this examination. Minimum Physical Standard: The physical standards are important for the job profile and the rigorous training at the NPA, which includes weekly run for 10 k.m. in 60 minutes, route march for 25 k.m. UAC, Horse riding, rock climbing, assault course, PT obstacles, rope climbing etc. The Medical standards for Technical Services are stringent. Good Luck |

hello Friend,
Following criteria needed for the post of IPS exam : you need to be a graduate from a recognized university . The minimum age requirement is 21 and maximum is 30 for General Category aspirants. For OBC, the maximum age requirement becomes 33 and for SC/ST it becomes 35 while minimum age remains the same for all three categories. To become IPS officer you need to have minimum education qualification of Graduate from a recognizedktr`University.
Percentage does not matter in your graduation, you just need to be passed in your graduation to apply for examination. There is no specific exam as IPS exam. To become an IPS officer one has to apply, appear and crack Civl Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year.
Qualification Required Foe IPS Civil Service Exam:- -The candidate must be an Indian national. -Should have either appeared for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University. -Should be within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate. -Should have possessed good Physical Fitness. Educational Qualification and Age:
The minimum educational qualification of an IPS officer is Graduation (10+2+3/4) under any recognized Indian University. A plain graduation degree is enough; you need not to have first class or any minimum grade or result to be eligible. You are equally eligible to be an IPS officer if you are a Pass Graduate, i.e. without Honours. Technical students like an Engineering graduate or an MBBS pass out may appear for the exam to be an IPS officer. The minimum age requirement for General (UR) category students is 21 to 30 years. The OBC students will get 3 years age relaxation while the SC/ST students will get 5 years. |

To become IPS officer, you have to write Civil service exam conducted by UPSC. To apply for this examination, you have to complete your Graduate degree course from a recognised board and your age should between 21 to 30 years, upper age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC Candidates. IPS is one of the All India Allied services provided, once you clear this exam. The post highly competitive among aspirants. Designations like DSP, SP , Commissioner are given to passouts after training for IPS. After selection, you will be trained for two in IPS academy in Hyderabad. The notification of CSE Examination is going to be published soon next year in the month of February and eligible candidates may fill the application form online only. No, offline application form facility is applicable for any candidates in this examination. The examination is conducted in 2 stages, preliminary and Mains, Firstly, you have to cracked the preliminary examination, this is objective and there are two papers in this examination. If you cracked this stage, then you are eligible for Mains. The main examination is Descriptive and you have to choose the optional subjects for Main examination.
