The IPS exam is conducted by UPSC which is the same examination for IAS. The post you get depends on the rank you get in the UPSC examination.
The minimum qualification required to appear for this examination is graduation. You must be a degree holder from any recognized college or university. You are eligible for this exam by having graduation in any field. You are eligible for this exam even if you are in the final year of your graduation. The age requirement is between 21-30. There is an age relaxation criteria for the reserved category candidates. For more information, check the UPSC portal: www.upsc.gov.in |

Hi!,
IPS stands for Indian Police Service.To become an IPS officer,you should appear for civil service exam. Civil Service exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) every year. You must be a graduate in any of the streams from a recognized university. Appearing in the final year of bachelor degree program are also eligible for IPS exam. Your age should be between 21 to 30 years. Candidate must be a citizen of India. The number of attempts based on the reservation i.e General candidates-4 attempts OBC-7 attempts SC and ST candidates-no restriction Exam is conducted in three phases: Preliminary exam Main examination Interview Physical Fitness Is very Important for this exam. Height - Male 165 cm Pahari Male (general also) & ST (not the SC/ OBC) - 160 cm Female 150 cm Pahari Female (general also) & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm Chest - Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm. Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm. Eye sight - 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. Thanks.. |

## Indian Police Services(IPS) examination is conducted by UPSC one time every year ## The minimum educational qualification required to apply for IPS EXAM(civil services exam) is graduation in any discipline from recognised institution/university ## Age limit to apply for IPS examination is 21-30 years and the age relaxations are ~>3 years for OBC candidates ~>5 years for SC/ST candidates ## The physical standards required tn apply for IPS EXAMINATION are ~>165 cm height for men and 150 cm height for women & 5 cm height relaxation for SC/ST candidates ~>85 cm chest on expansion for men & there is no such requirement for women ~>Eyesight should be 6/6 or 6/9 in good eye, 6/12 in worst eye for distant vision & 0.6 in good eye, 0.8 in worst eye for near vision ## The selection process of IPS EXAM is ~>Written test(preliminary & mains exams) ~>Physical Fitness Test ~>Personal Interview ## The number of attempts allowed for IPS examination are ~>4 times for General category ~>7 times for OBC category ~>no limit for SC/ST category candidates ## For further details please visit www.upsc.gov.in ** ALL THE BEST ** |
