List of government jobs for which you can apply after completing B.Tech. course :-

UPSC Engineering Services Exam :

Eligibility : B.E./B.Tech. pass in any stream

Minimum age : 21 years

Maximum age : 30 years


ISRO-Scientist :

Eligibility : B.E./B.TECH. pass with minimum 65% marks

Maximum age : 35 years


IT Officer Scale I in Banks :

Eligibility : B.E/B.Tech. in IR/Computer/Electronics

Maximum age : 35 years


UPSC CDS Exam, UES exam to join defense services.


GATE Exams if you wish to apply to PSU companies. GATE exam is conducted by IIT every year.


BSNL JTO exam :

Eligibility : B.E./B.TECH. in IT/Electronics stream.

Maximum age limit : 30 years

After completion of B.Tech course, you are eligible for below given government sector jobs.

After completing B.Tech, students can appear in IES examination conducted by UPSC or the examinations conducted by Service commission of different states.
IES stands for Indian Engineering Services.
It is conducted by Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) once in a year.
Eligibility to appear in IES examination are
-Candidate must be a citizen of India
-Candidate must be of age 21-32 years
- Candidate must have completed B.Tech degree from a recognized university in any stream

State Service commission also conducts their competitive examinations separately for recruitment at various post within the state.
Eligibility criteria for different state service commissions is different, so, you should check the eligibility criteria of the desired state by visiting the official website of service commission of that state .
In general, eligibility criteria for almost all State commission is similar to IES.

Also, the candidate who have completed B.Tech can go for jobs through SSC(Staff Selection Commission) or they can also seek for job in banking sector.

The best option for you is to crack the civil services exam that is conducted by Union Public Service Commission every year to recruit the candidates for the post of IAS, IPS.
