Respected Sir,
I have completed my BE in the stream of information science, and i would like to know when is the next IAS exam, and what is the syllabus, since im staying in mangalore, i would like to know whether i can attend classes here only , i mean nearby mangalore. also please inform me about the potional subject which i can take.

the next exam is in month of may 2010

the application will be available in last week of December,the exam is in may first week

the details of next IAS exam is as follows:

name of the exam: civil service (prelim.) exam-2010

date of notification:02.01.2010

date of submission of application form:01.02.2010 (MONDAY)

date of examination:23.05.2010 (SUNDAY)

also you should be of more than 21 years of age .

the notification for ias 2010 was out on january 2,please read the employment news of that day for further information

you can buy forms from the post offices,gpo.for the name ,you can visit its official site.

the syllabus is also there in the notification which came in employment news

for the year of 2010,the IAS examination is on 23 may,2010.

but for the year 2011.there is not any notice coming in the market,
if it will be available i must reply you.

Yes Friend

what you heard is true the exam pattern has changed slightly

before for preliminary also we used to select optionals

but now Preliminary Exam Got changed into (CSAT) i.e., Civil Service Aptitude Test

this has the common syllabus for all the candidates who are applying

Now the change only made in the preliminary level which is stage 1 of CSE(Civil Services Examination)

this will be taking effect this time i.e., in June 2011

Mains is same to that of Previous years

like wise Interview

ias exams are conducted every year in the month of june. The forms are available from october and november of the previous year.

The main examination for those who clear the prelims will be normally on the month of October/ November
