Re: Which books should I study for IPS exam?
There is no exact number of books and there is no surety that if you will read this and this book then you will clear Civil Services examination. You will have to refer to multiple books for different subjects for better understanding of subject. However, there are certain books for basic preparation of different subjects like:
>>Read all NCERT books for History, Political science, Geography and Economics right from standard 6th to standard 12th. >>After completion of these books, you can study standard books like Polity by Laxmikant or DD Basu, History by Bipan Chandra, Economics by Ramesh Singh, Geography by GC Leong etc. >>Read daily newspaper like The Hindu or Indian Express. Try to correlate what you have read in books with happening in India and outside world. |

Re: Which books should I study for IPS exam?
There is no any limited or particular books to appear or to qualify in UPSC Civil Service entrance examination.
But, you can pursue some most popular books recommended by previous qualifiers. NCERT books from VI-XII of all subjects. Indian Polity by Laxmikanth. Indian Economy by Ramesh Sinha. Indian History by Bipin Chandra. The Hindu/ The Exprees or The Hindustan Times newspaper. You need to follow these for preparation of examination.
