Re: Can I get job in Public Sector through GATE if pursuing B.Tech(CSE) 2nd semester?
Definitely you can get a good job in Public Sector Unit if qualified graduate degree in engineering or technology from a recognized university and have a valid score card of GATE Entrance examination conducted by IIT K because there is a particular procedure in every PSU of India that they follow and to get into such PSU, you just need to complete engineering degree first in disciplines they requires.
After that, you must have passed in GATE entrance examination because Scores of GATE test are compulsory then only the candidates are shortlisted for interview process by the PSUs and most of the Maharatna and Navratna rated PSUs like - BHEL, HPCL, NTPC, ONGC, BSNL, CIL, OIL, SAIL, GAIL, BPCL, PGCIL, etc. conduct recruited based on GATE test so a candidate must have valid scores of GATE test. If candidate qualifies in interview process and his/her marks of GATE test comes enough for the job then he/she is appointed for the job in that particular PSU and being an engineering student, you can apply for Assistant Engineer, Engineering Executive, Graduate Engineer and many other posts in these PSUs. If you think to get the job while studying degree course then it is not possible to get into the PSU and as you already know that GATE test can not be appeared by the candidate until he/she completes minimum three years of engineering degree so first of all you must focus on degree examination because securing good percentage marks in degree is also compulsory. A candidate must have minimum 65% marks in engineering degree then only PSUs consider his/her application that is why you must think about your career and prepare well for all semester exams and once you get good percentage marks then you will be preferred for the job in PSUs and good knowledge of the subject of specialization will help you out in cracking GATE test. The most part in GATE test is covered by the specialization subject of the degree of candidate so you need to practical more on the subject and do well in theory also then you may get good marks in GATE. |

Re: Can I get job in Public Sector through GATE if pursuing B.Tech(CSE) 2nd semester?
No you cannot get a job being in the second semester of your engineering as you are not eligible for it.
The eligibility for getting a job in the PSU is that you should be a graduate in your respective engineering stream and then you have to perform exceptionally well in GATE. You may appear in the exam being in the final year of your engineering but before that, I am sorry but there is no chance. Till you get eligible for appearing in the exam, you should carry on with your preparation. |
