Does caste certificate has a validity? Why my certificate was rejected during verification?

I am from West Bengal and I belong to scheduled tribe ( ST) and I had applied for a certain government job central, and I was called to Punjab for my interview and all, on the day of verification of documents, I was told that my caste certificate is not valid, I have been using this same certificate for a long time. I still don't know why they rejected me. Everything was okay on my part, and now I think twice before applying for the job, I had prepared myself so much just to be rejected on the very first hour of the day of interview.

Normally, caste certificate is valid only for 6 months like any other certificate like domicile certificate, etc. Hence, if you have any caste certificate older than 6 months, then you have to get a new one.

Just make sure that you have got the certificate from a valid place like district magistrate or registered notary office or tehsil or village panchayat.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
