No, diploma holder candidates are not eligible for police constable post.

Those candidates who have completed 12th standard from a recognized board are eligible for constable post.

Your age should be in between 18 to 25 years.

You are interested to know about the eligibility criteria for the police constable recruitment. Following are the eligibility criteria.

Educational qualification: Student must possess 10th class and 12th standard/ equivalent from a recognized board/ institution.

Age Limit: The maximum age limit is 22 years. Relaxation is given to reserved category students. Relaxation in maximum age limit is given to reserved category student as per govt. norms.

Selection Procedure: The candidates are selected on the basis of Academic merit, Physical Efficiency test followed by Document verification and Medical Examination.

You will be surprised to know that UP has released the notification for the recruitment of police constable. The last date for filling the online application is 17th February. So in my opinion you have to fill the application before the last date.

Eligibility Criteria Required for Police Constable Post:

If you have completed Diploma after 10th, then you will be eligible. On the other hand, if you have done Diploma directly after ITI, then in that you will not be eligible. The eligibility criteria required for this Police Constable post is given below.

* Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th) or Higher Secondary (12th) Class in order to be eligible for this post.

> Age Criteria Required:
* Minimum age - 18 years
* Maximum Age allowed - 21 years
Relaxation up to the age of 26 years for SC/ ST Candidates and Sportsmen of Distinction.

> Height Required - 170 cm (for male)

> Chest Required - 81 to 85 cms (for male)

The minimum eligibility criteria required to apply for police constable post is that the candidate must have passed class 12 examination or its equivalent from a recognized board of education.

Diploma course is equivalent to class 12 examination. Hence, you are eligible to apply for police constable post.

There is no rule but due to illiterate is more in India so they do not know what is meant by Intermediate or its equivalent
its equivalent means equals or higher than required as 12th
