In the first year you can’t able to apply for the government job. But you can apply in your final semester.

The selection Process into the government job is done based on the examination which is public for every government sector, which is taking part in this recruitment criterion.

The examination is conducted for the selection procedure and upon the selection of these written examination you will be called for the Interview.

-After the selection of the Interview round you will be employed.
-Some eligibility criteria which are required for appearing for this examination are as follows
-You must have attained the age of 21 years and must not exceed the age of 30 years
-you should have completed the Bachelor degree or the Graduation in any of the disciplines of studies.

So if you have above eligibility criteria you may get government job based on your performance in the written examination and interview
