Dear actually the recruitment of Railways has been taking place in various ways.

For posts A -- through Civil Services

For Post B -- you must write Indian Engineering services Examination , Combined Medical service Examination and Promotion candidates of Group C posts.

For Group C --There is RRB Exam for this sections and through this you can apply for TTC/TTE, Railway Apprentice, Various Engineering posts.

For Group D -- Recruitments starts directly.

If you have a professional departments in graduation then you apply for IES or Group C posts.

If you want to apply for Group C posts then you must write RRB Examination. In this there are two cadres namely Technical and Non technical Examination.

For Technical Posts :

--You must have complete 10th with ITI /Diploma/Graduation in C.N/D.N/ Electrician.

-- Age should be in between 18 to 33 years

For Non Technical Posts :

-- You must complete the graduation from the recognized university.

--Age should be in between 18 to 30 years.

There are various posts in Indian Railways which are recruited every single year so you must know detailed information about that then apply :

Indian Railways Assistant Station Master examination : A graduate in any discipline can apply for this examination and age of the candidate should be between 18-30 years.

Indian Railways Junior Engineer Examination : A degree or diploma in engineering disciplined asked for a particular post and age should not be more than 35 years to apply.

Indian Railways Technician Grade III recruitment : Candidate must have passed ITI or diploma of relevant discipline from a recognized university/board.

Indian Railways Assistant Loco Pilot Recruitment : Candidate must have passed diploma in diesel mechanics/ electronics/ Motor Vehicle/ Tractor Mechanics/ Wireman/ Radio etc. from a recognized board/ institute and age should be maximum 35 years.

Indian Railways TTE Recruitment : Only 10th qualification is required to apply for this test and candidate need qualify Tier II exam as well to get the job.

Indian Railways Commercial Clerk/ Goods guard and Group D level jobs : Candidate must have cleared class 10th or 12th from a recognized board and age must not be more than 35 years to apply.
