After doing B.E there are many scope for govt jobs so one should have to start preparing for this exam.
for getting into govt jobs one have to qualify the GATE exam with good marks as the cutoff for the govt jobs is very high.
You can also sit in the following exams for govt jobs as per technicals qualification:

IES(indian engineering services)
IAS
SSC
BHEL
DRDO

most of the govt sectors select the candidate on the basis of their gate score so it is advisable that you should prepare well for the exam.

Yes dear there are number of exams available after completing B.E/B.Tech to get a government job in the field of Technical or various fields in Indian Government. For B.E/B.Tech I prefer you to write take the GATE or IES Examination.

Since through the above two examination you can have a chance to apply for the Public Sector Undertakings. If you are not interested in the technical field then you can go for write a Bank Exams, SSC (Staff Selection Commission ) or Civil's etc.,

You are an engineering graduate student that is why you have many government job opportunities which are comparatively more than that of a candidate having graduate degree in other stream that is why you are lucky to have this degree because you can apply for both technical and non technical jobs in government departments.

First of all you should apply for IBPS CWE specialist officer examination in which you can apply for IT Officer scale I exam if completed degree in IT or CS from a recognized university because this vacancy is currently open and inviting online applications from eligible applicants.

You can also apply for BSNL - Junior Engineer and Junior Telecom Assistant exam if completed degree in CS or IT or Civil or Electrical or Mechanical.

You have opportunity to get job in PSUs through GATE entrance examination 2015 but you have to qualify GATE test before getting job in Maharatna and Navratna companies so prepare for GATE test.

Except these jobs, you are eligible for Engineer and Technician jobs in Indian Railways on graduation and diploma basis.

Assistant Station Master job is recruited in Indian Railways on graduate basis so you are free to apply for this job as well.

Apply for SBI clerk and PO examination to get job in the largest banking group of India.

IBPS conduct examination and interviews for other nationalized banks than SBI so you can apply for both CWE clerk and CWE PO examination of IBPS.

SSC CGL, SI and CHSL examinations are also there for various top level reputed posts in India which you can apply for.

So these are the jobs still being recruited in India and for more details, you should visit the official website of these boards and collect complete details.
