The list of government organizations where the jobs are available for Civil Engineers given below;

You can find more government job vacancies in the newspapers and websites. You have to apply online or offline for the jobs. The selection will be done through written test and interview.

If you want government jobs then you will have to crack competitive examinations. For Civil Engineers, some of the best technical jobs are found in Public Sector Undertakings like NTPC, BHEL, SAIL, GAIL, ONGC, IOCL etc. The recruitment in these PSUs is based on GATE scorecard, group discussion and personal interview.

You will have to appear for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering conducted by IIT and secure a decent rank among top 300 to get a call from these PSUs for recruitment. Other than GATE exam, you can apply for various other exams like Indian Engineering Services, Railways Senior Engineers exam etc.

In general competition, you can apply for Combined Defence Services, AFCAT, Civil Services exam, Banking exams etc.

The finest job in Civil engineering in govt sector is through IES examination.You can get Grade I officer posts in Indian Railways,CPWD,Water Boards,Indian Ordinance Factories etc.And IES has the maximum number of seats for Civil engineers.
You can get jobs in PSUs like NTPC,ONGC,IOCL,BSNL,CIL,SAIL,EIL,GAIL,TVNL etc.You can have good jobs in PSEs like NHPC,NBCC etc which has a good number of posts for Civil engineers.
You can opt for Indian Railways as Section Engineer or Senior Section Engineer through RRBs.The vacancies for section engineers are huge in all the RRBs.
You can opt for State govt jobs in State PSCs as Assistant Engineer in various departments as PWD,Transportation,Water supply,Irrigation,Sanitation and Public health etc.You will also have good vacancies in State electricity boards or Power boards.
You can also join Research institutes as ISRO or BARC or IFFCO etc or in teaching sector in govt institutions.
