Respected Sir/Madam, I want to know that, I have completed my Diploma (EEE) with 79% after 1 year, I dropped, then I took admission in B.Tech college through (Lateral entry 2nd year) after completing my B.Tech of 3 years. Am I eligible to apply ESE exam or not?

ESE stands for Engineering Services examination. It is also called Indian Engineering Services examination. This entrance exam for engineers is conducted by Union Public Service Commission.

Eligibility criteria for ESE examination:

1. You must have done bachelor's degree in engineering or technology from a recognized AICTE institute. Final year engineering candidates can also apply for examination.

Those who have done bachelor of technology through lateral entry are also eligible for Indian Engineering Services examination.

2. You must be minimum of 21 years on 01st August of year of examination.

Since you have completed your degree in Engineering, you are definitely eligible for the ESE examination.
Candidates those who have completed their Bachelors degree in Engineering from a recognised University are eligible to appear in the ESE examination.

Those who have completed their B.Tech or B.E in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering are eligible to apply for ESE examination. Since, you didn't mention about your B.Tech specialization. If you have completed B.Tech in any one of the above specializations, then definitely you are eligible for the ESE entrance exam for sure.

Yes you are very much eligible to appear for the above mentioned examination after completion of your B.Tech as it is the minimum eligibility criteria mentioned to apply for the examination. Your age should however not increase 21 years at the time of applying for the exam.
