Quote:
To write LEET i.e. lateral entry entrance exam you need to have at least 60% in your diploma. Since your marks are less i am sorry to say that you are not eligible to write LEET exam. However, You can write GATE exam and if you qualify it with good percentile you would be eligible to take lateral entry in IITs and other reputed engineering college. But for that you really have to work hard and give your best. Best of luck! |

Re: Am I eligible for lateral entry after completing Kerala Polytechnic 3 years diploma
Lateral Entry scheme is for Diploma holders who want to join Engineering course.
You will be into the 2nd year of engineering through this entry scheme. There are many entrance exam conducted in India for this entry scheme and eligibility is different for different entrance exam. So want 60 % marks in diploma and some don't want . So don't worry about your percentage and apply for entrance exam that doesn't require 60 % marks. There are many state level lateral entry exams which don't require 60 % marks . You can apply for those entrances. So don't worry LEET is not the only option for you . there are many other universities conducting this entry . |

Re: Am I eligible for lateral entry after completing Kerala Polytechnic 3 years diploma
Diploma holders are allowed to take admission for B.Tech through lateral entry scheme. What this means is that these candidates are given admission into the second year of Engineering course.
The procedure of admission is different for diploma holders in comparison to candidates who have completed 12th. You can not appear for entrance exams such as: AIEEE ISEET BITSAT UPSEE IIT-JEE These exams are for candidates who have completed 12th standard. Diploma holders should apply for entrance exam known as LEET which stands for Lateral Entry Engineering Test. However in your case, it isn't possible since your percentage is less than 60 percent. It is necessary that candidates have minimum of 60 percent marks in diploma to be eligible for LEET entrance exam. However please don't feel disappointed. There are various other entrance exams for lateral entry. In fact some universities conduct their own entrance exam for lateral entry admission. You can look into it. There are also universities that will offer admission on the merit basis. Some universities will offer admission directly if the candidate has scored at least 50 percent marks in diploma. |

Re: Am I eligible for lateral entry after completing Kerala Polytechnic 3 years diploma
Yes of course you are eligible for the Lateral entry scheme.Via this scheme one can get the admission directly in the second year of B.E./B.tech course .
The eligibility criteria for this scheme, is to have a diploma degree in the engineering stream or a bachelor degree in the science stream from a recognised university with good percentages. As you are telling that you have completed your diploma degree course in engineering stream with 60% marks in aggregate so definitely you can go for the Lateral entry scheme. |
