Is there any chance of getting IT branch in any NIT for B.Tech course? My 12th marks is 85.6% and I have scored 116 marks in JEE Main?

As you got above 100 marks you have chance to get seat in NIT.
But it depends on so many factor,the rank secured by you in the JEE mains examinations,category and location of the university.In the top universities you have a chance to get IT seat with your marks,you get some other NIT col

To get admission to study B.Tech (IT) course in NIT, you must have to secure good rank in JEE Main examination. Since, you have secured 85.6% aggregate marks in 12th standard and scored 116 marks in JEE Mainn examination, your JEE Main examination rank will be around 80000 to 100000. So, there are less chances for you to get admission in NIT for studying B.Tech (IT) course.

since you have a scored 116 marks in mains ,you have strong probability to get a seat in nit .but it depends on many factor like category,location.you should get air b/w 35000 -45000.so as per your eligbility and or and cr of nit you can get idea of which nit your are going to get.

To get admission into NIT one should appear for the 'JEE MAINS' exam.

Every year there will be lakhs of candidates appearing for this exam .

The cutoff for this exam will vary from year to year from category to category.

Basing the previous years cutoff's the cutoff's are as follows.
For OC candidates-105-115 marks,
For OBC candidates-70-74 marks,
For SC candidates-50-53 marks,
For ST candidates-44-47 marks.

So though you are from OC category you will qualify the test.

But as you got 116 marks in JEE MAINS and 85.6% in intermediate by comparing previous years results you will get rank more than 1,00,000.

So if you belong to SC/ST category then only you will have a chance to get seat in NIT otherwise it will be very difficult to get seat in NIT.
