I have completed 10 2 year dental hygienist course recognized by dental council of india. In india , there are no further education (Bachelor degree or post graduate degree) for dental hygienist, so i hvae planned to become BDS . my age is 32 , so how can u help me ?

BDS stands for bachelor of Dental Surgery and it is 4 to 5 years course with internship or without internship and this is course for the specialist in dental. And it is a best course after that you can also open your own dentist clinic. But to get admission in this you have to give the entrance exam.

Eligibility criteria for the BDS:
The candidate should be not below 17 years.
Should have 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum 55% marks.
And the admission get through the nationwide entrance exam and this exam is common for the MBBS and BDS. This exam is conducted in some of the main cities in India.

After that you can also do MDS and it is best for you. After that you may apply for the government job also. And if you have done BDS from a good college or university then you will easily get good job. And this course have many scopes.

Here are subjects in BDS:

Materials used in Dentistry
Human Physiology
Orthodontics
Oral Pathology and Microbiology
Oral and Maxillofacial surgery
Human oral Anatomy,Physiology,Histology and tooth Morphology

So these are the subject which are in BDS. So the candidate should have read all these subjects in BDS.

After that you may apply for the jobs in below fields:
Dental clinics
Hospitals
Educational institutes
Research institutes
Pharmaceutic companies
Dental equipment Manufactures
Dental Product Manufactures

So in above places you can get the job after the BDS and it is best if you will do after the MDS.

can i do BDS ?I am in a Government job as a dental hygienist from 22years past .If i have permission by HOD.I am i eligible to give entrance exam by my DH diploma &permission of HOD? D.upreti uttarakhand.

Can I do rejoint BDS after 10 year in last year directly, I had completed 04 years of BDS and due to some reason I had left it.

BDS means Bachelor of Dental Surgery.

Candidates must have 10+2 degree with Chemistry, Biology and Physics with minimum 50%marks .

And for Reserved category 40%marks required.

Age limit - 17 to 25 years.
