Is it necessary to secure 50% in Graduation to study PhD?

Sir
I have completed my Graduation with 49% from Kumaun University. Then I have completed my Post Graduation from M.Sc in Mathematics with 72%. Now I want to pursue PhD but I feel due to my less Grade in Graduation I may not be applicable to that. Is it compulsory that one should have 50% in Graduation for doing PhD?

Most of the universities offers Ph.D admissions on the basis of Entrance exams and Post Graduation percentage, but they won't consider Graduation percentage. So, as a student who have 72% in Post Graduation, you are eligible to apply for admission in Ph.D courses at most of the universities. And only very few universities are considering Graduation percentage, which should be at least 50%(45% in case of SC/ST). So, you can apply for those universities, only if you are a candidate from SC/ST category.
