Students from any streams can pursue Economic Hons. course provided there are criteria for all.

> Students from Arts background can do B.A.(Economics) provided that they have studied Economic Geography/ Applied Mathematics? Economics or other related fields as one of their main subjects.

> Students from Commerce background can also pursue B.Com(Economics) provided that they has Economics/Business Matehmatics/Pure Mathematics/ Economic Geography as one of their main subjects.

> Students from Science background can pursue B.Sc(Economics) provided that they had studied Mathematics as on of their main subject.

NOTE: This however, is the eligibility criteria provided in general, it may however vary from Institutes to Institutes.

B A Economics is basically a theoretical paper rather than numerical one. You can study BA Economics after any stream in 12th.

Respected Sir/Madam,
My daughter scored 94 % in Class XII, through CBSE Board. She wants to do BA Eco(Hon) desperately. She was completely demoralized on learning that all colleges under DU have a pre-condition that Eco Honors can be done only if you have maths in Class XII. What to do? After some research I found out that in the DU website under Undergrad courses, UNDER 3 YR (UG 2011-12) link http://www.du.ac.in/du/index.php?page=undergraduate , I saw a discipline course in Economics. Can she do this, or is there any other reputed college which offers Eco(hon) without this stipulation of having maths in Class XII. Please help. Regards
