What is the marks needed to get admission in a government college for GNM course?
I am a student of 12th with biology chemistry nutrition. Am I eligible for GNM course? What is the minimum marks should I get for admission in Government College? What are the expected fees in private colleges?

The GNM Nursing Courses admission shall be made on merit of candidate. To be eligible for GNM course one should have passed with Physics, Chemistry and Biology in their 10+2 with 50% of pass marks. As you have not taken Physics in your 10+2 you are not eligible for GNM course. You can pursue a degree course in nutrition and become a nutritionist.

Minimum Percentage Criteria Required for getting admission in Government college for GNM Course:
There is a certain minimum percentage criteria required for getting admission in Government college for GNM course. The basic educational qualification required is, >> 12th Class in 10+2 pattern with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects with minimum 40% marks >> As you are from Physics, Chemistry and Biology background I am very sure that you are certainly eligible to get admission. >> As far as my best knowledge is concerned, there will be First Inspection Fee and Annual Affiliation fee and the total fee for pursuing this course would be around Rs.20,000/- and it may be Rs.60,000/- if you are looking in Indian Nursing Council. |

GNM stand for General Nursing and Midwifery
Qualification for GNM Nursing training are:- The candidate must have passed 12th with having science subject in 12th level with 45% for general category, and for SC/ ST 40% required. Candidate age should be 17 years to 35 years. The duration of this course is 3 year and 6 months. |

Students must have completed their Class 12th in any stream, though Science stream and Biology subjects are preferred. Also, Candidates should have obtained at least 50% marks in the Class 12th exam. Some top medical colleges offering GNM Nursing courses ask for 60% marks.
