You must have an engineering degree minimum to become eligible for Ph.D entrance exam of any university. If you have M.Tech, then it will be definitely better.

Those who have GATE score along with B.Tech, are preferred by IITs and NITs for Ph.D interview stage. Hence, make sure you have a good academic record. Also, performance in the interview is crucial for selection.

Since you have completed your M.Tech course, you can definitely apply for Ph.D course.
IITs And NITs mainly prefer candidates with GATE score card for Ph.D course.
So, if you have a good GATE scorecard along with a good academic record, then you can definitely try for NITs and IITs for a Ph.D course.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
