You have completed MCA degree so if you want to join in Ph.D course or lectureship post, you must have valid NET/SET score.

The educational qualification required for NET/SET exam is masters degree from a recognized university with above 55% marks. 5% relaxation is given for SC/ST category candidates. Final year student are also eligible for NET/SET exam.

There is no age criteria for NET/SET exam but for JRF posts, your age should be below 28 years.

No, it is not necessary for you to qualify in the NET/SLET entrance exam after completing MCA course. However, if you are interested to become a Assistant Professor or Lecturer in college level, then it is mandatory for you to qualify in the NET/SLET exam with good marks.

Yes, If you wish to become in Assistant Professor or Lecturer in colleges located in your state, you must definitely qualify in SET (State Eligibility Test). Candidates must have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master's Degree or equivalent examination from recognized university (Universities/ Institutions recognized by UGC) in the below mentioned streams are eligible,
* Humanities (Including languages)
* Social Science
* Computer Science and Applications (CSA)
* Electronics Science etc.

Since you are an MCA Post Graduate, you can appear in UGC NET/ SET Entrance Examination under "Computer Science and Applications" background. Candidates appearing their final year of Post Graduate Degree (Master's Degree) are also eligible to appear in National or State Eligibility Test conducted by University Grants Commission. Remember, you must have secured minimum 55% marks in Post Graduation to be eligible for giving this NET/ SET Examination.
